The purpose of the educational program

Training of competitive specialists with knowledge and skills in the field of global and regional international relations, regional policy of states, economic, social, political processes of the world regions, domestic and foreign policy of Kazakhstan, the main directions of its regional policy, the activities of local government bodies, local governments , commercial structures of the Republic of Kazakhstan, able to adapt effectively to changing conditions of the labor market.

КC 1. General educational competence

–basic knowledge of the foundations of the natural sciences, social and humanitarian disciplines that contribute to the formation of a highly educated personality with a broad outlook and culture of thinking and the ability to apply them in professional activities;

–knowledge of the basics of the history of Kazakhstan and foreign countries, their traditions and culture

КC 2. Informative and communication competence

- Ability to independently search, select and structure information;

–Ability to navigate in modern information flows;

–Skills in working with information and communication technologies and information systems, databases and their application in the field of professional activity;

–The ability to identify and analyze the problem, the ability to operate with information and argue the conclusions;

–Proficiency in the use of the state, Russian and foreign languages for communicative purposes in the field of professional activity;

–the ability to prepare an expert opinion on the problem and defend their recommendations in the expert community;

–the ability to analyze the influence of international relations, world politics on the foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign countries;

–the ability to critically analyze various interpretations of the history of international relations and foreign policy;

–mastering the skills of monitoring the dynamics of the main characteristics of the international (global) security environment;

–the ability to identify sources of threats and challenges to the national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

–knowledge of methods of search, critical analysis, generalization and systematization of scientific information, the ability to set research goals and choose the best ways and methods to achieve them;

–the ability to use skills and methods, ways of organizing research and scientific and production work in professional activities;

–knowledge of the subject and methodology of the study of regional and international relations, methods of regionalism.

КC 8. Organizational and managerial competence

- knowledge of the basics of economic sciences and have scientific ideas about management, marketing, finance, etc. and the ability to apply them in solving practical problems;

–knowledge and understanding of the role of the public sector in the economy, the goals of state regulation of the economy and its methods;

–skills in making managerial decisions of an economic and organizational nature in professional activities

КC 9. Professional and applied competencies

–knowledge of the main theories of international relations, the modern system of international relations, its problems and ways to solve them, knowledge of the strategies and resources of the main actors of world (global) politics;  

–the ability to predict the prospects and possible consequences of the development of global processes for the Republic of Kazakhstan, to develop proposals for the effective management of international relations and the participation of the institutions of the RK in them;

–the ability to apply the provisions of the main theories of international relations for the preparation of analytical documents and the development of strategic projects

КC 10. Instrumental competencies

–the ability to prepare and edit texts of professional and socially significant content, abstracting, work with media materials and compile press reviews on given topics, find, collect and summarize factual material, prepare information and analytical materials in the professional field;

 –ability to conduct negotiations and business correspondence;

–possession of the basics of diplomatic office work, international document management and the ability to draw up diplomatic documents, draft international agreements, contracts, programs of events in the state, Russian and foreign languages.

Learning outcomes

LО1. Able to search, collect, analyze, and interpret information in the field of international relations using modern IT systems and digital technologies.

LО 2. Able to apply the fundamentals and principles of academic honesty in the development of draft management decisions in professional activities based on the skills of executive and administrative work in public institutions, performing the functional duties of specialists in the regional management system.

LО 3.  Able to apply knowledge of the categorical apparatus, scientific methods of modern research in the field of regional relations, world politics, regional studies, regional politics, interests and positions of Kazakhstan, as well as countries of specialization.

LО 4.  Able to show critical thinking, ability to cooperate, ability to work in a team, desire for professional and personal growth, to develop intellectual, moral, communicative skills.

 LО 5. .Able to apply methods of scientific research and academic writing in the development of analytical reports, references, expert assessments on problems of regional studies, world and regional politics, their impact on the foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign countries.

 LО 6. Able to apply free communication skills in different linguistic and cultural environments based on knowledge of the state, Russian, foreign languages using modern translation technologies, simultaneous and written translation skills.

 LО7. Able to integrate knowledge in the field of natural sciences, socio-humanities, economics, the peculiarities of the development of the countries of the region, the modern system of international and regional relations, the basic concepts of general regional studies into professional activities in an inclusive environment.

 LО 8.  Able to implement the skills of forecasting and modeling regional policy in the field of international political processes, state regulation of the economy, socio-economic and political modernization of Kazakhstani society, foreign and regional policies of the Republic of Kazakhstan in professional activities.

 LО 9. Able to use the skills of business correspondence, etiquette and protocol, negotiation techniques, knowledge of the legal foundations of modern international and regional cooperation, the structure and principles of functioning of state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, international and regional organizations in professional activities.
