In April 2023, as a result of the merger of two departments—Economics and Management and Accounting and Finance—the Educational Program in Business, Management and Tourism was established.

The mission of the Educational Program in Business, Management and Tourism is to train competitive specialists who are able to adequately respond to modern globalization processes and become leaders in the field of economics.

The key features of the EP mission lie in organizing professional training of specialists in demand on the labor market and are reflected in the following provisions:

  • formation of a highly professional human resource potential of the country;
  • integration of education and upbringing, science and practice through the use of innovative technologies with a focus on practical professional activity;
  • instruction is provided by qualified academic staff, including teachers with industry experience, practitioner-teachers, social partners, and employers.

The goal of the Educational Program in Business, Management and Tourism is high-quality training of specialists through the effective implementation of educational programs using modern technologies.

The strategic priority is high-quality training of future specialists and the integration of the interests of educational organizations, business, and the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Educational Program in Business, Management and Tourism achieves its goals by addressing the following objectives:

  • updating elective disciplines in accordance with trends in labor market demand;
  • development of modular educational programs;
  • involvement of students in research activities as a prerequisite for creating a practice-oriented scientific and educational environment;
  • continuous improvement and modernization of the EP’s educational and material-technical base;
  • further improvement of the management system of the educational process;
  • enhancement of the professional competence of academic staff, support and stimulation of their initiative and creative activity;
  • implementation of innovative technologies necessary for effective mastering of educational materials;
  • strengthening social partnership to train competitive specialists.

Fields of Training

The Educational Program in Business, Management and Tourism is a graduating program and provides training of competent, highly qualified specialists with theoretical and practical skills within the following educational programs:

Bachelor’s degree programs:

  • Accounting and Auditing
  • Finance
  • Economics and Management
  • Tourism
  • Marketing and Business

To ensure continuity of education, the EP also provides training at the Master’s degree level in the following programs:

  • Economics
  • Management

Awards and Honors

Faculty members of the Educational Program in Business, Management and Tourism are recipients of awards from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

  • Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor L.I. Mergalieva — awarded the medal “For Honest Labor” for achievements in scientific and pedagogical activity and a significant contribution to the development of the university;
  • Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor L.I. Mergalieva — awarded the badge “For Merits in the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan” for achievements in science;
  • Candidate of Economics, Senior Lecturer G.I. Nesterenko — awarded the title “Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan”;
  • Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor L.I. Mergalieva — awarded the badge “I. Altynsarin” for significant achievements in education and upbringing of the younger generation;
  • Candidate of Economics, Senior Lecturer G.I. Nesterenko — awarded the Honorary Certificate of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Doctor of Economics L.I. Mergalieva, Candidate of Economics G.I. Nesterenko, and Candidate of Economics A.B. Tlessova are recipients of the title “Best University Lecturer.”
